Art Slam Update

I know it's late, but hey, better late than never! Here are some great pics of the Art Slam that we were at in November. It was an outstanding show. Stay tuned for the next Art Slam kicking off in January of 2010!

ArtSlam This Weekend

That's right folks, we will be at another art slam. This one will be at the White Rabbit, come out and support your local artists, bands, ArtSlam San Anto, and last but not least... US! We will be there selling our goods, let's make this a great event and sell out so we can bring in some new products!!! Keep watching for new stuff!! GRAFFITI Foundations 1st Gallery Showing

For those that just could not make it to our first gallery showing, worry not for the vid is here. This event was all types of crazy when it came to putting it together, but it paid off when we were able to show the work created by our artist and it is for them that we do this. Finally, our thanks go out to the Centro Cultural Aztlan Gallery for allowing us to host our event.

Saturday Limelight ARRRRGSLAM!

So after the Margarita Pour Off, and the American Sabor Music Fest, come finish the night off at the Limelight this Saturday located at 2718 N. St. Mary's. We will be there selling our wares, plus we have a NEW T-SHIRT DROPPING, so get the first look at the next Setup85 Design!

We'll be joined by a ton of great artists and some great music as always, not to mention the beer is good too!

Bubblehead/Janice Vids now online

New Artist - Christian A. Rodriguez

We are welcoming our newest artist, Christian A. Rodriguez. He has been with us for a few of our shows, but we now have his work up on the website. Christian is an amazing artist and in the short time I've known him, has continued to push the boundaries of art. Please look for him in our "Artist Page" and check out his work. Soon we will have his work available soon, if there are any inquiries, please shoot them our way. If you'd like to correspond with Christian, you can contact him at theartofcar@yahoo.com.

We were busy this past Saturday, just as we mentioned we would be in our previous post and enjoyed the many pieces we had seen that day. Luckily for you our viewers and those that just can't make it to the art shows we have a video up on our youtube account titled: San Antonio Art Shows.

Sixteen new paintings by local artist Alejandro Padilla will be on view at Gallista Gallery July 11 through August 5.Following the success of his 2008 Contemporary Art Month show, Sanctified Science/Theoretical Sacrament, Padilla returns this year with Humanness Thereafter. This new series of works builds upon Organic and Geometric Symbolism, an idea that Padilla first developed and explored in his previous show. Of his new work, Padilla says, “If Sanctified Science/Theoretical Sacrament represented the shortcomings and failures of man, then Humanness Thereafter is the antithesis of that show because the work now emphasizes the persistence and adaptation of man.” Padilla’s signature use of undulating organic forms combined with the stabilizing presence of geometric shapes depicts an awareness of human existence devout to the inevitable evolution of man. There will be an opening reception on Second Saturday, July 11 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

We will then be headed to the Lonestart Art Studio for the TWO divided by DOS Opening:

Last month's inaugural Tobin Hill Second Friday event "Art on the Hill" was an incredible event, with four venues participating and more than 300 people enjoying local artworks. Read news coverage of the event here.

This month, join your friends, neighbors and art lovers from around the city for an expanded event that includes eight venues and features a variety of visual arts from painting, metal arts, sculpture, ceramics and more.

Galleries will have refreshments and music for visitors to enjoy and local artists will be on hand to talk with you about their work. Admission to all galleries is free.

Limelight 6.13.09 Update

The Clean Up (#2)

So two weeks ago we were back at helping clean up graffiti in a different location and like many of our other videos it can be seen on our youtube account. Sorry for the delay; school,cleaning house and SAS Fest aaaaahhhhhh what a crazy few weeks its been.

Here's the newest pice by Davin Gutierrez. It's an homage to the rarer version of John Carpenter's "The Thing" poster; it is the version used primarily in Europe. He's titled it; Who Goes There?

SAS Fest

The Graffiti Foundation will be participating in the SAS Fest this coming weekend. Come enjoy the arts, crafts, foods, and free concerts; the days and times are as follows: Friday(6/5) 5-10pm, Saturday(6/6) 12-10pm, and Sunday(6/7) 12-10pm. So another week has come and gone and once again we were checking out the arts here in San Antonio.
